So Ryan was in your platoon - that had to have been very hard. I'm sorry for your loss too - I can't imagine having to lead a platoon and dealing with the stress that you must go through. You sound like such a good person - I bet Tracy was glad you were her son's "leader"... and that you were with him...
I haven't been on this site in a while and have been meaning to - I remember watching those videos - so you were the one that put them together? They made me cry - you did such a great job - what a beautiful tribute.
Unfortunately I never had the honor or privilege to know Ryan. I met his mother and sister though at the Obama rally in Green Bay in February. I was a volunteer for the campaign and Tracy came up to me asking if somehow we could get the bracelet to Obama - she told me about her son - and my heart went out to her and to every family member who lost a loved one - I had friends that served in Iraq and who were fortunate enough to make it home. This is very personal to me (as I'm sure it is to you and to many other people). I think Tracy is such a wonderful mother fulfilling her son's wishes - and it's happening... it really is.
